Photography
for our Special Needs Kids
Having a successful photography session with a special needs child can
be a challenge. It is hard for parents to feel a sense of understanding
from a photographer unless they themselves have "been there". As a
mother of a special needs child I was unsuccessful in getting my own
child photographed until I learned how to take pictures of him.
And this is where my passion to do this for others
was born.
For our sessions my first goal is to make
sure that
everyone has fun. I want
these children to see this as something
that's
cool that they will want to do again in the future and then my second
goal is make everyone look their best. I want your child to see
him/herself in a
different way - a way that says 'I am beautiful' because they truly are
a
beautiful child of God.
My sessions are different! I meet with your child(ren) before
the
photo session. We look at my equipment and I even let the
kids
take pics too. We talk about what will happen on that day and
about signals we can all use to let each other know when something just
isn't right. I want the children to feel like they are in
control
while I am gently guiding them to where I want them to be.
Sessions include family photos as well as each individual
child.
I work quickly but patiently to
capture the spirit of your child!
And when we are done, I even have a treasure box where the children get
to pick a prize. How cool is that?!?
